Locally Advanced Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma (LAPC)

In the treatment of pancreatic adenocarcinoma that is considered to be advanced at the original site of the tumour, either chemotherapy alone or a combination of fluoropyrimidine and radiation are reasonable options. Fluoropyrimidine-based drugs inhibit the growth of rapidly-dividing cancer cells.

The combination of chemotherapy and radiation can be considered for previously untreated patients with pain due to their primary cancer that is unable to be effectively managed with drugs or other means.

If available, it is recommended for patients to participate in clinical trials.
